The Yukon Cliff Resort lies far up in the mountains of the Yukon Territory, set among the legacies of Jack London, dogsleds, and the gold prospectors of the late 1890s. The Resort is a two-day hike upriver from Dredge No. 4 and Discovery Claim, where the first nugget was discovered that lit the touch paper of the Klondike Gold Rush. You can also reach it by using the Resort’s exclusive airlift service which will whisk you conveniently to and from Dawson City, the boom town that housed the majority of prospectors of the time.

Because of the steep cliffsides and river access closed off by waterfalls, prospectors never made it to this remote stretch of river. Years after the boom had turned to bust, a mysterious prospector who went only by the name Auric staked claim to these rugged waters. Although he operated in near-total secrecy, it’s speculated that the gold he found there surpassed even the largest strikes of the Yukon gold rush. His company, Aurico, became one of the wealthiest in North America, and he used its mining equipment to carve an entire hidden complex out of the cliffside. He lived here as a recluse until his death, but Aurico continues to operate and years later it converted his private cliffside dwelling into the high-end resort you can visit today.

The Yukon brings glassy cloudless nights with white bands of stars and crisp pine-scented air. Enjoy the sweeping views from your room, head out by bike or foot into the hilly wilderness, or descend to Auric’s Creek below and try your hand. There’s still gold in the river, and you could be the latest prospector to strike it rich.
